Forkardt Hardinge step chuck closers fit directly to the machine spindle. An inside taper corresponding to that on the step chuck places the closing pressure over the stepped area of the chuck, resulting in greater gripping power and accuracy. A step chuck closer is required for each rated size step chuck. The chuck mounts directly on an A2-4, A2-5, A2-6, or A2-8 spindle nose.
